We had five scouts show up to brave the windy, chilly weather on Saturday. The winds were quite strong out of the north making casting very difficult. As to catching, there were several fish caught but there was more fishing than catching. Afterwards, we all went to the White River Room to get warmed up. There, Bill talked about safety, health, balanced rod system, knots, etc.

We had eight scouts tying three different flies...a dry fly, wet fly and a pellet fly. All learned very quickly with Dave and Herb's excellent teaching skills. There will be lots of fish caught on the 5th of October when they use their flies for catching fish.

Tying Flies for Students to support the Fly Fishing program at Winthrop University, SC

We had 15 tiers from Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing program, Carolina Fly Fishing Club and South Carolina Trout Unlimited. Many different flies were tied for the Fly Fishing program at Winthrop University in SC. A big "thanks" given to all that participated in this worthy event.
